What is fear to you? To me fear is plain insanity; it exists only in our thoughts of the future. The future isn’t certain, nobody knows what’s coming. So how can you fear something that might never happen? Your fear of losing your partner is unjustified; it is basically just a lack of trust in disguise which is holding hands with your own unresolved insecurities. You ought to observe yourself and take note of the attributes that are unhealthy within your life. Fix them instead of burdening your partner under the weight of your demons with the hope that it will somehow prevent them from leaving you or cheating on you, that is basically just manipulation with extra steps. The harsh truth is if someone wants to cheat on you…nothing will stop them. 

Ownership is just insecurity in disguise, you can’t claim you love someone then try to own them. Telling me you love me then prohibiting me from going on raves because you’re afraid I’ll take someone home is just insecurity. It is not an act of love. It’s the same way a guy claiming he loves a girl only for him to dictate who she is suppose to talk to and what she’s suppose to wear is also just another form of insecurity. We have to stop mistaking this acts as those of love, love doesn’t come with conditions. We have to stop nurturing this insanity with claims that it’s the fear of losing someone.

I don’t like being someones object. Yes I get the whole “You’re mine.” Telenovela crap that has been drilled into our minds repeatedly via soap operas, romantic movies, books etc. The fact that a notion is repeated in broad sectors of pop culture doesn’t necessarily mean that it is right or healthy. Think about it, why are crimes of passion the leading cause of murder throughout the world? If you keep acting like someone’s property a time will come when you no longer want to be so and your partner won’t want that, nobody wants to lose their property. What do you do with a goat that keeps running away? You either slaughter it or enhance its lock up. Either way the goat’s going to be miserable or dead.
