Can You Hear A Lioness Roaring? Faya Mama Jahmby Is Back and Giving Us Boss Vibes

I don’t know where to start. I’m feeling a little overwhelmed to be honest. It’s been a minute since I felt this inspired. Fayah Mami Jahmby is everything and beyond. Can I just start at the beginning? Please? The read is gonna be a bit longer😞 but I promise it’s worth it especially if you are an alpha who’s been feeling out of it lately.

The Date Is January 25th 2020

The day is January 25th. I just woke up so I’m still laying in bed. I say a prayer and then grab my phone. I see one of my friends skanking and I’m immediately inspired to get into my morning routine. My morning routine usually involves one fine ass Mary Jane paired with Dunhill, and dancing while streaming music on YouTube nkisumbua watu kwa ploti thanks to my very dope music system. (Not to suck my own nipple or anything 😅). Sijui Mungu akinibariki na sound bar mtapumulia wapi😂😂😂.

So, The Story Continues …..

So, I’m streaming bongo music coz I’m on some chilled, lovey-dovey- ish, slow whine vibes. If you are on YouTube a lot, you know it usually gives you several recommendations of songs you can play next. As I’m going through the list, I see some mix dubbed Jahmby conqueror comeback mix 2020. My interested is immediately picked. I mean bongo and reggae are pretty far apart but I love reggae songs. Growing up, my big brother would always play reggae on his laptop.

He was in campus back then and I was in form two. 204 as we used to write it back then🤣🤦‍♀️🤣. Anyhu I used to think he was so cool just by virtue of him being in university. So I used to do, watch and listen to whatever he liked. That’s when my love affair with reggae began and its been a happy clande relationship ever since. So yes, I clicked on the title and I started to listen to the mix. It was recorded during Reggae Tuesday at Vineyard, Kiambu Road.

I’ve Switched Gears and Now I’m Listening To The Vineyard Reggae Music Set

Jahmby does a set with both DJ Double Trouble and Selector Technix. As I listen, I am left in awe. This woman has seen some dark days but as I listen to her speak and Make affirmations I feel so empowered to slay my dragons. I don’t mean to be mushy but just listen. Listen Linda.

A little Back Story About Faya Mama Jahmby

She was a force to reckon, going about making a name for herself. She then had medical conditions that sent her to the hospital. She was diagnosed with pneumothorax and throcacic endometriosis. ( MA blonde hello, hi😅. Msijali, Google is there for you😅). Sisi watu WA national school acha tuendeleange na story, mtacatch up🤣😂🤣.( I say that lightly btw, don’t take me seriously. I respect all people but subtle flex lazima). Hii mambo haitaki makasiriko.

Anyhu, she got really sick and had to travel to the states for treatment. She went sometime in February, came back for a while in September, and went back. She just came back to the country after undergoing a series of 21 bloody surgeries.

It was a very hard struggle. On her socials, she talks about dealing with fake concern and losing friends. Not to mention the disgusting looks her friends would give her as they visited her in hospital. All because she was bedridden, emaciated and in diapers.

I thought about adding in her pictures during the time she was sick but this is not a sad story, it’s a story of celebration and inspiration because…

Thankfully, she did overcome it all and our favourite femcee is back and at it. Just a few weeks in and she already has gigs booked all the way up to March. Including the Buju Banton show on 8th Feb organized by NRG. Now, that’s what we call a boss bitch. And she knows it as is evident from her set with TECHNIX.

Her Set With Selector Technix

Please take a minute to listen to the audio

During this particular set, the Dj is playing Nobody can stop reggae by Lucky Dube and Jahmby professes nobody can stop her.

She then continues to say “Waambie. Tell them say faya mama jahmby is back. A Lioness Roaring ina 254. Nawaambia Wale wabaya, wale wanyanya, wale watomato. Nawaambia Raah. You can never stop me. . I’m bad.Mimi ni mbaya. “

Jahmby’s Set With Dj Double Trouble

In her set with Dj Double Trouble, she sings along the song See them a come by culture and inserts her name so she instead sings Jahmby is a conqueror. She also dedicates a song to her mother who she says changed her diapers and stood by her all through. The story is so touching.. Moreso now that she emerged scathed but triumphant nonetheless.

I listen as she tells people to say her name and you know what I’m not mad at it at all. We hear you Jahmby. You are bad. There’s no question about it. We hear you Roaring. Like the Lioness, you are, with all that strength, bravery, fierceness, gracefulness and prowess. We see you and we are inspired by you to roar ourselves. To be badasses. To overcome. To conquer and to be on top of our game regardless of the darkness that clouds over us.
